The Sidebar is a new feature of Windows Vista™ that resides on an area of your desktop where you can store small programs, called gadgets, to quickly access information. If you want to exit the sidebar and not have its icon displayed in the taskbar notification area, then follow the steps below.
To Exit The Windows Sidebar
- Right click on the Sidebar icon in the notification area of the taskbar.
- Then click on Exit.
- Windows Vista will then exit the Windows Sidebar.
Note: Exiting the Sidebar closes all gadgets and removes the Sidebar icon from the taskbar notification area. To reopen it, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, and Windows Sidebar.
